The Southampton LabFact team hosted a successful one-day conference on “Flow Chemistry and Reagentless Synthesis” on 30th September 2019. The event showcased the work of LabFact academics in the UK and France through lectures and poster presentations, and provided a forum for SMEs to highlight their work through talks and exhibitor stands.
Our speakers, Kevin Booker-Milburn, Isabelle Chataigner, Philip Parsons, Julien Legros, Richard Brown, Mark Bagley and Barny Greenland, covered topics from flow photo- and electro-chemistry, to high pressure and mechano-chemistry, microwave and microflow chemistry. Representatives from a range of industries attended, with presentations from Pareon Chemicals, Asynt, HEL group, Photodiversity, GPE, Drug Discovery Consultancy, Huber, KCMC and Alpamayo.
The event demonstrated the vibrancy of the France (Channel) England region within the fine chemicals and allied instrument manufacturing sectors. The value of Academic-Industry partnerships in stimulating economic growth was evidenced throughout the day.
